Aha #1- The MPAA being allowed to take away parts of the first amendment in movies. The MPAA was not the government so they were allowed to take away rights associated with the first amendment. I at first thought it was a violation of the law, but then after the explanation I understood that it was not a violation
Aha #2- I have always heard of A&R but I've never knew what it stood foor. It stands for artist and repertoire, and they are specialists in the music industry who discover and develop the groups and performers.
Aha #3- When we watched This Film is Not Yet Rated, I did not know or notice that a women being pleasured is heavily constricted as oppose to men. This is obviously unjust and biased towards women.
I have become more familiar with the first amendment and the media. I have learned who can control your rights and how the government is the only source that can not take away our constitutional rights. I have also learned about how media has changed dramatically over the years. From newspaper to magazines to the internet and television. Technology over the years has had a major impact in mass media as well. I now pay more attention to the details of mass media than I did before joining the class. I enjoyed learning about Mass Media.
Thank You, Mrs. Deck
I'm glad you got so much out of the class. I agree that "This Film" is about more than the ratings system; it also deals with gender bias and sex taboos and hang-ups.
