Aha #1- The MPAA being allowed to take away parts of the first amendment in movies. The MPAA was not the government so they were allowed to take away rights associated with the first amendment. I at first thought it was a violation of the law, but then after the explanation I understood that it was not a violation
Aha #2- I have always heard of A&R but I've never knew what it stood foor. It stands for artist and repertoire, and they are specialists in the music industry who discover and develop the groups and performers.
Aha #3- When we watched This Film is Not Yet Rated, I did not know or notice that a women being pleasured is heavily constricted as oppose to men. This is obviously unjust and biased towards women.
I have become more familiar with the first amendment and the media. I have learned who can control your rights and how the government is the only source that can not take away our constitutional rights. I have also learned about how media has changed dramatically over the years. From newspaper to magazines to the internet and television. Technology over the years has had a major impact in mass media as well. I now pay more attention to the details of mass media than I did before joining the class. I enjoyed learning about Mass Media.
Thank You, Mrs. Deck

Media Ethics/Media Law
One of my favorite websites just recently got shut down due to copyright issues. The website showed you all the sports game that were live online, the website also showed tv shows from cbs, abc, mtv, and other major networks. Unfortunately the law had to get in the way and ruin it for all of us now, but supposedly those who go on these types of websites I heard are also supporting terrorism by going on the website.

Propaganda Technique
This is an example of black and white fallacy, which is an ad that two has two sides. If you're with one side than you're against the other, or the enemy of the other side. Basically saying that your with something or you're not- http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/graphics/propaganda_shutmouth.jpg
Direct order is used to simplify the decision making process by using images and words to tell the audience exactly what actions to take, eliminating any other possible choices. This ad is very well known , and was used to get people into the army. http://ranger25.com/Ranger25Photos/I%20WANT%20YOU.jpg
The big lie explains the repeated articulation of a complex of events that justify subsequent action. This ad was also know as a stab in the back, which blamed the Jews for the underlining reason of why the Germans were defeated n WWI

Internet
I believe i'm addicted to the internet, because whenever I'm at home or at a library I have to be on my laptop. Sometimes I go on repeated cites just to make sure I didn't miss anything or to see if anything new has come up. My laptop that I have right now, is the first computer or laptop I have ever had. Maybe because this is my first computer or laptop I just use it so much because I've never had one. I always check yahoo and the articles they have, and i also check my fantasy teams on yahoo. I'll spend like an hour just on my fantasy teams. I go on other basketball websites to see highlights and rumors about trades and stuff. I constantly check amazon and ebay for clothes and other necessities. I also always look for clothes to buy on the internet, because their is so much more on the internet than in a store or a mall. I also check for new songs on the internet everyday. I also procrastinate on Facebook, as does probably 95% of the people on Facebook. I also check some other websites that talk about all sports as well. Their is so much to do on the internet I don't ever think I'll be un-addicted to the internet.

The Medium is the Message
I have not seen a new movie this year but from last year I would have to say my favorite movie was Inception. It was amazing because it was a mind baffling movie, and the concept of the movie plot was very unique and interesting. One of my favorite movies of all time has to be Rush Hour 2. I loved the acting of Chris Tucker, I thought he played a hysterical role in the movie. An oldie I love is Heavyweights. The kids and Ben stiller were so funny in the movie. I saw all these movies in theaters.

Magazine Proposal
My magazine title would be called, Major Decisions. Students these days try to research what school has what major, and how good or what ranking is that school in that particular field. This magazine will go in depth into all state and university schools to determine what school has what majors and their ranking in each major. Students often research what school are good at what, but often different websites and different magazines have different rankings. Some students might see a well known school in the top 5 in one category of a major, and then on another site or magazine that school won't even crack the top ten. Our magazine will have researchers and scholar appraisals. Our magazine will go into each and every major that every school contains, and will provide critical information about them. Our target will be students starting from age 16-18 to 28-30, of course to both males and females. Obviously our magazine is open to people of older ages as well, but these ages will be our main target. Income level, ethnicity, race, religion also make no difference. We want to aim to help every student without any variables. Our competitors include well known magazines such as U.S. Magazine, Business Weekly, and Forbes. The difference with my magazine is that we dedicate and devote all our time researching schools, majors, and each schools rankings in the U.S. . While our competitors have so many other topics to cover it will be tough for them to spend too much time into particular schools and majors. They will obviously do their research on the a few of the impacted majors and the obvious schools. My magazine will have thorough information and facts about every major of every school, including the majors specialty. For example a student wants to do business, but once you do business their are so many different fileds like accounting, finance, international management, etc. We would excel in the specialty of majors, because our biggest competitors only go over the broad fields. Some advertisers may include, government grants, scholarships. housing, books, and online schools or degrees. We will have a variety of articles on the premier issue. The first articles will be on how our magazine beat out our top competitors. Second will be about which majors make the most money. Third will be an article trying to help you find a major for your career. What are the best schools for your particular major will be our fourth article. Our last article will talk about schools for "B" and "C" students.
